Vicbob,

It works the same as any other SIP Phone. You hit the transfer button and then the speedcall key for voice mail if you have one as the tape cassette looking key is usually setup as the message notification button.

Thanks,

TE

Vicbob,

That is because you are doing a blind transfer to VM. You need to stay on and do an announced transfer to dial the mailbox extension.

Thanks,

TE

As TE mentions you have to xfer to vm then wait for answer, then dial the mailbox number and complete the transfer.

This is different to the MCD where you just press the VM key instead of the transfer key and it blindly transfers to the extensions mailbox.

So is this another difference of the 6900 series sets compared to the digital or 5300 series? I seem to remember just being able to press Voicemail DSS key then the users DSS key or extension and hanging up without waiting for anything... Or do I just spend too much time on the 3300 and in the hosted world now days?

The default Xfer to VM key is a Speed Dial/Xfer key which doesn't work properly.
Change it to a BLF - Extension key.  Also in the configuration profile enable "Display DTMF Digits" so the user can see the mailbox digits they are entering.
Still doesn't work perfectly (caller doesn't hear full mailbox greeting), but hopefully Mitel will fix it in a future release.

The 69xx series sets on a MiVO-250 are SIP phones; unlike on the 3300 as a MiNet phone. This means that it works just like any generic SIP phone would unless you have the Phone Manager server [MCS] also. If you have the MCS then you can use some of the OAI features with the new 69xx series phones if you also have the license for it; another gotcha.

lowradiation,

He can only make it a PKM/BLF if the customer also has the latest MCS 5.3 and the MiVO-250 is also at 6.3 to allow for the 69xx phones to have OAI functionality. I think this is going to add a whole other level of complexity when troubleshooting as people are adding the new 69xx series phones without meeting all of the criteria.

I am not saying you are wrong, but we may have to verify more stuff before providing answers I think.

Thanks,

TE

I wouldn't put a 69xx on a MiVO 250 without an MCS - losing too many features
Vicbob stated that he presses the xfer to voicemail key which is a default key when you have MCS

lowradiation,

I totally agree with you, but Sales people will try to sell anything they can whether or not it is a great idea; regardless of what we think.

I totally forgot that the default keymap does come up that way for the 6900 series phones, but we have already diverted from that. I do believe that if you put a + sign behind the extension number that you can dial extra digits instead of making it a BLF Extension key. Without looking at a system I can't remember how we did it, but I know it works fine.

Thanks,

TE

If you get it to work, please post.  Right now, we have a 6 step process to transfer a call direct  to VMail.

XFR
Fixed Vmail Key on 69XX
Wait fro an answer

Mbox Number

Jbbts,

and when you do the six steps process, the caller hears half of the greeting?

Correct.  It is abbreviated, missing eh first few seconds of the greeting.  I imagine this can be worked around, bu jsut having the use pause for a second prior to recording the greeting.

All of it is less than ideal, and hopefully someone has a better solution, or Mitel corrects in the next software release.

Vicbob,

Did you try putting a + at the end of the Xfer to VM in the phone manager? Did it fix the issue or no?

Thanks,

TE
