Hi

I've purchased some additional mailbox licenses for a client.  When I go to update the license count (through Licences > License and Option Selection > Change > Retrieve Licenses), I get the following:

*  Message "Please wait while data is retrieved"
*  The licence count is then updated correcly.  I then click "Save" and get a message which states "Please wait while your data is saved"
*  Message "Internal System Error"

& the license count is not updated.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Version details are:
Release level 4.1
Active Software Load 10.1.0.69_1

Thanks!

Supam

Hi,
I'm having same problem when adding SIP trunk licenses.
I recieve same error message "Internal System error" when trying to license both online and now offline.
Have now committed all licenses to this system but still not active with error.
Please can anyone help?
Have performed DBMS save and reconfigured Internet gateway to use Teleworker server in server/gateway mode to remove firewall problems but no luck.

Version details:
Release 4.1
Software 10.1.0.69_1
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks all

Same thing started happening to me when I was on 4.0 for no apparent reason.
Upgraded to 4.1 SP1 and still got it. Mitel did some debugging from the console. Now on Monday an engineer will do something to get it working.
Will let you know what happens.

I wonder if its the same as this KPI:

PLANNED SW LOAD - MCD 4.1 SP2
SYMPTOMS

This was fixed by doing a backup and restore.
Going to transfer over some more licences and double check it's still working.

Mitel seem to know about the problem, found this on MOL:

When adding additional SIP, IP user or Voicemail licenses via ESM on an existing system running MCD 4.1, system may return with "internal system error" when the "SAVE" button is pressed in License and Option Selections.

Analysis
During "Save" operation, ESM collects the existing licenses from 3300 and compares the new licenses to be added.
3300 returns an improper device license to ESM. "Internal System Error" is then displayed on ESM.

Temporary Solution:
Option A: Use Software Installer ( SI ) to re-license an existing MCD 4.1 system

Note: SI will perform system reboot after relicencing.

Option B: Perform Full Installation

Long Term Solution
The issue is being tracked by defect 336123 and will be addressed in MCD 4.1 SP2
MCD 4.1 SP2 is scheduled to release in the first week of July, 2010

I just saw that Mitel100 and jumped to this thread to update :)  Anyway, using the SI is a relatively easy work around....
