Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Start/Stop/Check Web Services
« Last post by jsmaage on December 22, 2025, 05:42:58 PM »
Hi, in previous versions there were some console commands to check webservices (i WebServer) or start/stop (ts WebServer/tr WebServer). For the latest version using mcdDebug I can't seem to find any documentation on what the new commands might be - any ideas?

Native device support for 6915 was added in MiVB 10.2... before that, ti had to be programmed as a 6920. You can check the release notes.

Hi all,

Following up to answer my own question. It was user error. My MiVoice Business, even after updating to the newest version, does not list 6915d Minet firmware as available or list 6915 as an available device to add to a line. I need to troubleshoot this further. I was using firmware I had found online and apparently, it was mis-named. So that solves that mystery.

Now to figure out how to get MiVoice Business up to date with the 6915 Device added!

Thanks!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Mitel 6915v2 SIP vs Minet phones
« Last post by natec on December 16, 2025, 11:58:12 AM »
Ugh, so I've found out the hard way that Mitel sells two SKUs of 6915v2's by purchasing a dozen phones new, unboxing, chucking the packaging, and now struggling to flash them out of SIP mode so they're unusable for me. And without the packaging, un-returnable. Trying my best to utilize these phones as wasting money in our budget as a K12 district is tough to swallow.

6915 "SIP" and a "Mivoice Business" 6915. The only discernable difference I can tell with the SIP version is that the phones have a crudely printed label with mismatched font to cover up the original 6915v2 Mivoice SKU and they have been flashed to SIP firmware. Cool... 50008415 (SIP 6915) vs 500009434 (Mivoice Business 6915)

I also have just purchased a bunch of 6930w's, new, and those were in SIP mode too. That was easily corrected by upgrading firmware through phone's web UI with the Firmware from my MiVB server. Thanks to another post from these forums and this youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6bhMYoc78o

When I attempt to do the same firmware update to my 6915's, I am greated with a "This firmware already exists on the phone."

6915d.st is the SIP firmware and MINET_6915d-enc.st is the MiVB MiVB/Minet firmware. The phones are currently on 6915d.st version 6.5.0.226

I've tried all sorts of things to get the correct firmware flashed. Through the UI, through the Recovery Mode UI, changing filenames, grabbing older versions of firmware, attempting to flash other models (the 6915 board inside the phone is strangely labeled 6920..) etc. Nothing seems to work on this.

Anyone have any tips?

Not sure of what modules are installed or whether the cim ports connect to anything but I would try a boot with only the dsp module installed and nothing in any cim port. I may also want to disconnect the analog mainboard. This would be my starting point, slot 11 my refer to the cim ports just comparing to older 200 as to what it would have. I could be wrong.

Has anyone ever seen this message on a 200ICP during boot?  And if so know a fix?  Thanks!

It is right in the documentation... But remember it is just a (mostly) CentOS compatible Linux system...

To reset the Administrator password for the "admin" and "root" users:

1. Open a terminal session to the server or access the console.

2. Physically shut down the server and start it up again.

3. When the GRUB boot loader splash screen appears, press the "a" key.
 - The load process stops, enabling you to append arguments to the kernal boot line.

4. In the kernel boot line, type " single" (note the leading space) and then press Enter.

5. When the bash shell prompt appears, do the following:
   • Type "passwd root", enter a new password, and then press Enter.
   • Type "passwd admin", enter a new password, and then press Enter.

6. Type "exit" and press Enter to resume the boot sequence.

Note: Although you can enter unique "root" and "admin" passwords, typically you
would enter the same value for both users.
