Version 6.2 SP1

I think things changed in later versions, so what ChatGPT says, doesn't work.
I learned ChatGPT doesn't know squat about Mitel MiVoice 250's! - Lead me down fruitless paths of clicking in the database programmer
I learned that the manuals are your friend!

I was trying to figure out how to make the message for emergency calls appear on a new phone I installed for a maintenance personal at a Mitel MiVoice 250 site.

In "MiVoice Office 250 Installation and Administration Guide" - Emergency Calls: Emergency calls, by default, use the first local trunk group and will not be sent using node trunk groups on other nodes. However, when ARS is used to place an emergency call, Route Group 1 is used even if it contains nodes. This means that the network can access a trunk on a node other than the user

In "Features and Programming GuideWhen a user places an emergency call, every administrator in the network receives an emergency alarm.

I changed the Device Flag - Administrator to YES and that I believe should get me what I want.

If others have more info/details that would be helpful, please chime in!

Thanks @acejavelin!

Appreciate you pointing me in the right direction with sourcing parts.

Having the forum has been a huge help in processing / onboarding this client.

Hi Forum!

Super help from @Tech Electronics!

Deploying a site (getting a PC setup for remote access) and troubleshooting an extension 107.

This extension is on DEI 1 - Bay 2 - Port 7.
During testing, found No Dial tone on the Full SLM-8 card.... I swapped SLM-8's beteen Bay 2 and Bay 3.
During testing, found Dial tone on Bay 2. i/e: the issue followed the card!

In software, the DEI1-Bay 1/2/3 ALL showed ONLINE...
I tried a power reset on DEI 1 to start off, without a difference.
I decided to swap cards, to see if the issue would stay in the BAY or go with the Card...

Is that the proper test procedures?

2nd. Is there a particular spot to purchase these SLM-8 or other hardware?
I know some forums don't allow monetary questions, but I do want to get some good hardware, with maybe a warranty.
I have E-bay as an option also...

Thanks in advance!

Hi There!
I'm a longtime member on tek - tips esoare.
But was trying to get help and learn the Mitel MiVoice 250 product line, and joined this forum!

Long story short.
'97 started telecom with Nortel, been doing all sorts of stuff.
Recently decided to help a client with MAC/Service on 12 MiVoice 250 sites, till they get replaced.

These are the requests I have gotten so far

Voicemail Password Resets
Reset a T1/PRI (currently they reboot the whole system when the carrier goes down, doesn't auto restore)
Swap Extensions
Change Incoming DID to go to correct extension.
Add new Analog Conference Phone

The old maintenance tech's company doesn't do it anymore, and he is too busy with his regular job to handle these sites.
He was kind enough to provide me with the admin password, but I don't have all the plugins for the sites (some I have, but others not so much.) He is hard to pin down, guessing ton of overtime and life in general.

I would Loooove to know more about the Following:

Software, and how plugins work
Basic Administrative Training CD's or Manuals
About 4 hours of remote training on the basics of administration, where a Mitel Engineer can provide training, and answer questions.

Currently, starting to deploy some computers out at the sites.

Any interest in helping out?
Manuals/Links?

Thanks in advance!
esoare

p.s. the remote training, would be compensated of course! (hope that's ok to request that type of assistence here...if not, admin's please don't ban me)
p.p.s. I know it's probably bad manners to get an account, and be so "needy"... sorry. :(
