Can't find DN + Hide the 9 from the display phone IP5312
« on: October 07, 2025, 12:49:16 AM »
Have kinda weird question.

Remoting to the site thru a contractor.. - Just a "one-off" service call, so, I have no "history" with the end customer.

Task is to make x3306 to be able to dial out, without showing the 9 on the display...

Person in Charge, dials an outside number on the phone.
Then hands the phone to the person needing to talk.
Hiding the 9 code from the people that are talking on the phone, so they don't make outgoing calls from their rooms.

I believe placing a button with ARS/Speedcall button with "9" will accomplish the task (any correction on that appreciated!)

The weird question!

I can't find the extension...There are multiple systems tied together / Certificates are a mess (having to log into each one, versus, clicking a link and opening the programming.) I can't find the x3306 in the Directory!

The customer states "They confirmed that 3306 is the correct extension and is what shows on a neighboring mitel phone when they call it."

Any help would be appreaciated!

My thought is that somehow that extension is on another system since it's not in the Directory...OR... I can be looking in all the wrong places.

What do the maintenance commands LOCATE EXTENSION and LOCATE NUMBER tell you?

Can you tell me where I enter those maintenance commands, please?

I'm at the web-gui level (that's what the contractor has given me access to) sometimes they log in with "system" other times with "administrator" / "admin" usernames.

Is there documents online I can look at also?

I just got a picture of the phone type 50005847 5312 IP Phone

Thanks @ bojo387!

System Administration → Maintenance and Diagnostics → Maintenance Commands

seems to be where I enter those commands you mentioned.
Appreciate your input!

esoare,

There isn't a way to remove the 9 if it is part of the dial string which is what is shown in the display.

The 9 would then be stripped off by the ARS Digit Modification Associated with ARS Route that was chosen for that phone and Digits Dialed.

The only way to remove the 9 is to not require the 9 to be dialed for an outbound call in the first place, even using a speedcall will show the digits as the Actual Number dialed.

Thanks,

TE

understood on removing the 9! Tech Electronics - certainly didn't want to do that.

Got the request completed. Better Title "Can't find DN + Hide the 9 from the display phone IP5312."

DN issue: Ended up, someone transposed the DN in the ticket.!  :(

I got the phone to hide the 9 on the display using the "Personal Key" option programming through the phone, see below.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I ended guiding the end user through creating a Personal Keys that used the 9, and made Private, so it wouldn't show on the Display.
Press the Blue Super Key
Scroll using the # key to Personal Keys
Use the Star Key for “Yes”
Press the key you want to program
Press * to Change
Enter the number you would like to add. “9”
Press Key to save
Asked to Make Private
Press * = Yes  Press # = No
“Key Saved” displayed.
If needed Press the Blue Super Key to get out of programming…
The option in the attached picture may have worked!
