we ended up removing the 1st alternative to voicemail

this way, the call will ring on the cellphone until the cell's voicemail picks up and the caller can then leave a message

Thanks for the reply,

to keep things simple while testing,  I've created an extension associated with a DID that has the same routing for day and night and its 1st alternative is voicemail.

The extension is configured with call forward to redirect to my cellphone via the web interface.

I've assigned a dedicated COS on the extension and the following parameters were configured:

System Options - Call rerouting timer:  60

Class of Service Options - Call Forward No Answer Timer:  50

yet,  the call gets redirected to 1st alternative during its 3rd ring which is not even close to 50 seconds..

Hey guys,

Is it possible to prolong the ringing before falling to the 1st alternative (which is the embeded mailbox extension in our case).

I've looked at these options but with no luck:

System Options - Call rerouting timer

Class of Service Options - Call Forward No Answer Timer

Here's the setup:

We have a DID configured to route to an ACD path during the day, that's fine.  At night, the DID routing is configured to route to an extension where our users can manually configure a call forward via the web interface so calls can be sent to a cell number of their choosing.  The DID has a routing 1st alternative that goes to voicemail extension.  If the user doesn't answer his cell phone, the voicemail of the DID will pickup.  We just wish the ringing on the cell was longer.

hehe :)  my bad

We're on Release leve: 8.0  SP1
Active software load 14.0.1.29
Inactive software loca 14.0.0.97
Platform: MXe-III

By the way,  I did manage to solve the issue without having to use Firefox.  Essentially, this is all a problem since the latest patch of Edge that forces IE to launch Edge when you open Internet Explorer (I am aware that you can add an exception, but the exception expired after 1 month).  Well, I got rid of Edge and we put a block on our firewall so that IE cannot reach Internet.

There, I hate you even more today Microsoft.

Thanks for trying to help though ^_^

Hey guys,

I installed the latest version of firefox and when I try to login into a phone's web interface to change the call forward feature, I get an error saying "The browser you are using is not supported.  Use Microsoft Internet Explorer instead."

Well,  IE is no longer working since the latest Edge patch and within Edge, if I allow our PBX website to use IE mode within edge, that allow exception is only valid for 1 month and I can't realisticly ask my users to do this every month.

How are you guys accessing the web interface?

thanks!

I believe i found the answer

I configured the following feature codes to their default values and rebooted the phone:

Message Waiting - Activate:  *33

Message Waiting - Deactivate:  #33

Message Waiting - Inquire:   *34

So is this for a message waiting indicator key or the main MWI light?

Thank you for replying, i was away on vacation and now am back at it.

The main MWI light key does not blink.  This is for all our phones that have voicemail messages.  When we press on the main WMI key,  the display shows "no messages"

9
Feature access code " Message waiting deactivate"

I'm not sure what that accomplishes.

I've tried programming and using the feature code for "mesage waiting activate"   and the button on the phone does start to blink but when I press on the voicemail key, the display shows "no messages".

I've programmed the feature code "message waiting inquiry" and that displays "no message"

I find it weird that if I dial the voicemail port (7899),  I have to enter the voicemail box password and then the operator tells me that there's 1 new voicemail message.

Hey guys,

The voicemail message key is not blinking on new voicemail.  I can see the voicemail are present in the voicemail box because the number of new messages value goes up by 1 each time, but when we press the message key on a 5324 IP set,  the display shows "no messages".  I've configured a message waiting indicator key on the phone and there are no changes.

I've connected to the console and ran the commands:

iPVM_Status  (shows running)
iPVM_Stop
iPVM_Start

Nothing out of the ordinary there.

I've changed the COS values to a different COS and the same behavior occurs.

In the All Maintenance and Software logs,   i see the following error messages for a number of phone extensions:

Log type: software
Log Number: 5
Severity: Warning
Source:  SAC
Description: SacSendMissedVMCallEvent-> Unable to find Dev Cache for 7944
Module: Main
File Name and Line Number: SwitchAppCommsTx.cpp;4327

What can I do to resolve this issue?

thanks!!

11
i will do that for the time being and see if the issue persist.

have a good day!

12
I checked physically and the handheld is plugged into the right port

13
It's an intermittent issue; therefore I can't ask them to check if speaker phone works at this moment but I will let them know.

Also, the phones are in the same subnet.

thanks!

I have already had this case, the user had plugged the handset cable into the headphone port

Yikes,   but then it wouldn't work 100% of the time, right?  In our case, the issue occurs sometimes, not always

Hey guys,

We have a situation where some of ours are having issues with internal calls.  A user will call a coworker, the phone rings and when answered there's no sound on each end.  What configurations could be put in place to diagnose this situation?

thanks!
