Envelope Key does nothing
« on: November 04, 2016, 10:55:35 AM »
I have a user that when she presses the envelope key nothing happens. It lights up when there is a message and if she dials the pilot number it will get her to VM but the key no longer dials for her. it worked about a week ago and it works for everybody else. I think it is a hardware issue but I don't want to have to buy a new phone if I don't have to. does anyone have any ideas?

Did you try to replace the phone? (or swap the phone with other user?)

Have you tried rebooting it?

We have rebooted the phone but I have not tried swapping the phone yet. I wasn't sure if there was a way to check the programming on that Key. I will try that next.

Hello tshowalter,
Take a look at the specific user on the Users and Services Configuration form, specifically the Service Details tab and scroll to the bottom and check out Call Coverage Service Number, in the example shown below it is set to 1.

Now go to the "Call Coverage Services" form and check out the setting for that Call Coverage Service Number (Again my example is 1). Look under the Voice Mail tab. Is the pilot number to voice mail in it? The example shown here is that 7000 is the voice mail pilot number.

I have seen that sometimes when setting up a new user and we were using say for example Call Coverage Service Number 2 as the VM pilot, that we forget to change the default from 1 to 2. Hope this helps ya!

Thanks,
-Iron
