Accidental Digits Dialed
« on: October 17, 2016, 12:26:50 PM »
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone know how to prevent accidental internal digits dial like 1212, 1347, 1718, 1732, etc... we do a lot of faxes here and most of us know to dial 9 then the fax number. but from time to time there will be people trying to fax without the 9. When that happens it calls our users and that can be very annoying for them. Any ideas? we currently are on the Mitel 3300. thanks!

It might be easier to find new users.   ;)

I can only think of one thing to do.
Put the fax in its own tenant that has access to the trunks but not to the users.

Then if they don't dial the 9 then at least the call will fail.

I might have to learn how to do that, pretty neat sounding.  Thanks for the tip Ralph.

Is there a way to say for the specific extension for example 1732, for the system to wait for the 5th digit dial. if the 5 digit is dialed without the 9 it will fail. I tried adding that on the ARS digits dial, unfortunately that only works for no extensions. thanks!

So my workaround is adding ARS Digits Dialed for all combinations of the accidental dialed numbers. For example, extension 1212, I have added 12121, 12122, 12123, etc....to 12120. this will have to do for now. thanks

If your ARS conflicts with extension numbers it will add a delay to dialing those extensions.
