Refresher on check list when powering down the 3300
« on: April 15, 2010, 04:50:30 PM »
Dear Greater Mitel Intellect,

I know how to gracefully shutdown the Mitel 3300ICP.  But I recall something about the verifying something about the DBMS.  Otherwise on reboot, the database would be gone.

Also, is there a way to gracefully shut down the NSU?

Regards,

Mike G.

I don't know if this is still true, but when you first load up a 3300 you had to do a DBMS Save command.  Without this it would revert back to the default database on a reboot.  It was a one time thing.

You can use IMAT to reboot (and I think shutdown) and NSU.

enter the command dbms stat. When the screen display is outputted check the field 'dbms_initialized' if set to 'on' then when you reboot the db will be resotred. If set to off when the system is rebooted the db is cleared and a default (blank) database will be loaded.

With the NSU, you can use the restart command and then stop the boot sequence when prompted. I do not know of a shutdown command on the NSU, but could be wrong.
