I am currently dealing with None functional 50005712 Cordless Headset  & DECT Modules connected to 5000A176  5330e IP Phone
1) No charging of battery
2) No pairing
3) No communications
4) No lights

5330e IP Phone
Load : 06.02.00.06
Hardware Rev : A.01
ICP Rev : 6.0.11.113
DECT Module
Protocol Ver: 1.0
Firmware Ver: 1.06
Hardware Ver: 0x42

We have 15 of these units, status is the same for all units.
The cordless units do work with older load versions and other phones.

Does anyone know of a work around?

Does the phone recognize there is a DECT module installed?

Yes, the phone screen is where the DECT version info came from.

Did you install the tiny little power jumper inside the back of the phone that connects from the base of the phone to the DECT module and the charging base?

Problem Solved!

1)   Install the headset and DECT hardware on the phone per instructions.
2)   Put the instructions away, as they are totally incorrect beyond the hardware install.
3)   Power the phone
4)   Press Applications button (blue)
5)   Select Cordless Devices
6)   Press and hold the pairing button on the DECT module until you see the instructions to push and hold the headset hook until the blue led on the headset flashes
7)   Once the DECT module and headset have established a connection you need to answer yes on the phone to allow the device to be paired.
8)   Now you can plug the headset into the charging cradle and you will see the green light.
9)   Very simple, when you are not having to hack around to figure it out. (Over 3 hours wasted with Mitel support on this one, they had us doing all kinds of unrelated crap)

Yes, the jumper had been installed per the hardware instructions.

I've installed about a hundred of these, as per the instructions. Not sure what is different about yours.

Same... never had a problem on either the 5000 or 3300.

To the OP: I would suggest giving tech support a call, there isn't much else that can be done here from a user/technician standpoint. There is no programming or setting in the 5000 to affect this, and there isn't really much else you can do if the hardware is installed correctly. If you are not a certified technician, I think it is time to get one involved.

g.tejas,

I am glad that you figured out how to do this, but steps 4 and 5 shouldn't be necessary in order to pair the devices together as that screen will pop up when the phone finds the cordless device. The only issue I have ever had is when the batter for the headset or handset was dead and a few minutes on the charger can solve that problem.
