3300 Personal Contacts
« on: November 23, 2009, 11:28:02 AM »
Hello,

Some of our users have configured their cell phone in the personal contacts settings in their mailboxes. We have a limitied number of incoming external lines (channels) from our PRI. I would like to know if when users personal contacts (cell phone) is invoked is it using one of our external lines? Just trying to see if for instance if everyone in the company configured their cell phone in personal contacts and for what ever rason this was invoked would all our external lines be tied up and customers wouldn't be able to get through?

Thanks

yes it would use up a channel on your PRI. Also dont forget if the caller is calling in on your PRI (DID or via attendant) and then selects cell from personal contacts then you are tying up 2 channels. 1 for the inbound call and 1 for the tx out to cell

Now - the 3300 can support D channel transfer I think it's called.  IE: in this scenario the 3300 would tell the telco to connect the lines, freeing both of your B channels.....
