Unable to login to UCA

hello, new to this forum.

we have had a Mitel system installed and have little success in logging into the UCA client from my workstation. 

i have reset my user password under the Account tab in the configuration of the Unified Communications Server.

i'm not entirely sure of the syntax needed to login.  johnsmith@server.domain.local

any insight would be great.

If you have access to server-manager on the UCA Admin Website, you should be able to see exactly what the login is and reset the password.  If necessary, you can delete your account in server-manager and manually recreate it just so you can specifiy the login name and password.

yes, i've done that.  i see the login ID and the password field (blank) but i can type it in there and click save... no errors, no acknowledgement that it was changed.  is this normal?

that sounds about right.  See my attached.

Two things I suggest:  give yourself the web/mobile web access license so you can login directly to the server rather than through the UCA Client.  This will validate whether the issue is a password issue or not.

Then look at the network path between your client and the UC Server.  Are they on the same subnet?  If you're going through a firewall to get from the client to the server, make sure all ports are open and then test it (after validating that the web login works).

thanks, Vlan 1 is of course the data... Vlan 100 is voice.  same network just routed with a layered switch between 192.168.x.x and 10.1.100.x(voice)
i can ping from the data side without issue, can login to the MAS box but i cannot resolve the name of the server.  is this needed?
not sure how to add a web access licence... but that is a good suggestion to test the connectivity.

additionally i just sent an welcome email to myself to confirm the settings.  looks correct ... i have a feeling it can't resolve the server name:(

You have to test the web login.  that's key.  If you get in on the web, then it's not a login issue at all.

Once you determine whether it's a login issue or not, then you can move to the networking issue.  My MAS/UCA Server doesn't need a whole lot of connectivity to the PBX, so they can be in a different subnet.  However, the Clients and the MAS/UCA Server do need a lot of connectivity, that's why mine are in the same subnet.

See attached.  That's where you check it off.  I don't know if there is a "Default" number of licenses that comes included.  I ordered them because there is no true Mac Client, and I have about 7 Mac users.

You can view the Logs in your AppData/Roaming/Mitel/UCA.log file.

Try logging in and then looking at what is says in your UCA.log file.  This should point you in the right direction.

never did find the specific logs
