Laptop setup
« on: October 21, 2011, 10:44:37 AM »
How do I setup my laptop to log-on and communicate with a stand alone and unused MN3300 for practice.

Thanks in advance

You'll need to figure out what IP address the 3300 is.
Then set your laptop to be in the same subnet.

To figure out the IP address you may have to shut it down, connect a serial cable to it at 9600,8,N,1 and watch it boot.
You can stop it when it starts it countdown and says "press space bar".
Once it's stopped, enter 'c' and then just step through the settings by hitting 'enter'.

Rather than rebooting can't he do a version?

True.
He could use the serial cable and do ChangeBoot.    That would be better.
