MiVoice 250 SIP Trunking/IVR issue

The current IVR set up works as such on their old phone system....

Call comes in, hit the auto attendant
Caller chooses the option to go to the pharmacy
There are 4 analog extensions in a linear hunt group going into the IVR
IVR picks up does it stuff and gives the caller an option to get in touch with the pharmacist
The IVR system does a switch hook flash and the call gets transferred to an all ring calling group that rings all the pharmacist extensions

We are going to be installing a MiVoice 250
Client would like to use SIP trunks
SIP trunks do not provide switch hook flash
Is there a work around to produce a switch hook flash while in the IVR?
The IVR company stated they can utilize * codes as well.

Has anyone run into this and does anyone have any ideas?

Also, has anyone run into an issue with the ring voltage on the analog ports of the MiVoice 250? How common is this issue?

Maybe I am confused, but the IVR is analog and the pharmacy stations are on the Mitel... Where do the SIP trunks come into play that you want to flash on them?

The call would come in as SIP, then be converted to analog POTS buy the system and delivered to the IVR... If the IVR doesn't handle the call, it will do a hookswitch flash on the analog extension, dial an extension (or Hunt Group) and disconnect. The trunk type in this case is not relevant, unless I am missing something.

Tripoth,

I have to agree with acejavelin in that it seems, from your description, that the IVR is connected via single line ports so the trunking type doesn't matter.

As for ring voltage on the analog ports that was an issue in the Inter-Tel Axxess days that was resolved with an external ring generator or changing out the card; other than that I have heard of no issues.

Thanks for clearing that up for me guys.

As for the ring voltage issue, I have to place ring voltage boosters on each one of the analog ports in order for the IVR to pick up. Should I go back to my dealer and ask what gives?

Honestly, this just sounds like a simple equipment incompatibility issue and you found a working solution... If the ports on the Mitel are putting out their rated ringing voltage (you will need an analog voltmeter to see it clearly, or a REALLY good digital meter, better than my Fluke 77) then there is nothing to go to them about.
