Connecting a PSTN line to the 3300
« on: February 20, 2019, 06:21:58 AM »
Hi all

Im trying to find out how I would connect an analog PSTN line to the Mitel 3300. We currently have an ISDN30e and a SIP trunk configured, but we have inherited a UMTS to PSTN gateway we wish to connect into the Mitel.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Depending on model 3300's have embedded analog units fitted that take PSTN lines via RJ11 connections 4 ONS and 6 LS trunks IIRC) Look on the rear panel. You will need to programme various bits on the Mitel to get the to work. It can get a bit fiddly and I would suggest you line them up using the provided test to make sure they work correctly.

If you are not sure then get your provider in.

Physical controller, you connect it to the embedded ASU, I believe all hardware platforms have 4-6 CO line ports.

If it is a virtual controller, then you need an FXO gateway, like a Mediatrix C7 series device (example, there are lots of approved devices).
