Mass deletion of System Speed Calls
« on: February 17, 2017, 02:15:26 PM »
Hello Fellow Mitel Techs,
Does anyone here know of a way to delete ALL system speed calls in the MCD? (I got about 1000 of em') I tried to export and remove the entries via the spreadsheet and import, but no luck. So far It looks like it is just one at a time.

Thanks,
-Iron

When you delete the first one, then it should say how many records to delete, enter like 100 and preview, if it looks good, press OK.

Pet Peeve, you can't delete a range of Speed Dials.
It seems to be one of the only forms that don't allow range programming.

Hi acejavelin,
Nope....once I hit the Delete button I get this....

As you can see, I cannot click on anything other than "OK" or "Cancel".  :( Oh well, it is what it is. I think sarond is correct though only can be done one at a time. But on the plus side it took me a little over an hour and a half to delete all system speed calls!  ::)

Anyways, thanks guys!

Thanks,
-Iron

I don't suppose it responds like a normal window and you can shift click to highlight more than one entry at a time (don't know just a thought).

This would sound a little like hacking, but you can try to do following:

1) do backup
2) in the backup file clear the \vmail\temp\db\backup\data_save\SPEED_CALL.37 file (delete the file and create and empty SPEED_CALL.37 file)
3) restore from the updated backup file

I have not verified this in the lab is trying this method is under your risk ;-)

The format of these files is quite simple, the meaning of the extension e.g. the .37 is actually a size of each record in the file, so clearing the content of the file means 0 records in it.

Can't you export the current list then clear all them out or maybe leave one with excel then import new list

No, this does not work, at least not in the 14.0.0.97.

x-man,
Even though I was 99.9% sure that wouldn't work I tried it anyways.....and nope....No dice.

Thanks,

BlackSunshine,
Just as petr.necas stated, that don't work either. I actually tried that first too. We are using 13.2.1.27, it no likey in there either. One at a time is thee only "Official" way it seems, I'm not brave enough to try petr.necas' little "Try at your own risk" hack, hahaha

Thanks,

I realized, if the speed calls are referenced on other forms, like on the Call Rerouting form, it will probably not be the best idea to hack the backup file and import.

What would happen if you exported the CSV file, then deleted all of the "Actual" numbers and re-upload them again?   I'm wondering if leaving the actual number field blank would delete it?

Gives a "The directory number is defined elsewhere. The directory number is invalid." error message.

Anyone found a solution to this. I have hundreds to delete and it's annoying as hell.

Look for a scripting program.
I use Auto Hot Key.  It's free but powerful.
You could script a keystroke to click, delete, click delete, click delete.
