Matrix GBR21 GSM gateway
« on: December 07, 2016, 12:38:14 AM »
Hi Guys,

I've been tasked with installing this BRI GSM gateway on a 3300. I will be doing it remotely as the controller is  about 1000 plus kms away from me. The only details I have is that they have plugged in the gateway to the BRI ports on the controller and they have green lights. Does anyone have any experience on this configuration?

Cheers!

Green light's is good :)

Have you tried to program ARS to dial out? I don't see why it shouldn't work.

The model number concerns me, how old is it? Is it the 3G model?
Remember 2G was just turned off in Australia last week. We have had a few customers GSM Gateways stop because of this.

Thanks mate! Yes, its a 3G - 2 channel. I haven't started the programming yet - I'm not entirely sure how to do this yet. So will the gateway be seen as a separate trunk such that I will be able to program ARS?

Cheers!

So I've got outgoing calls working. However, incoming calls to working. The caller hears the phone ringing 3 times then cuts off. Physically the phone does not ring at all. Strange thing is that if the phone is off-hook, the caller goes through to voice mail no worries! What do I need to check for these symptoms?

Cheers!

It should be presented as I standard ISDN line.

I would trace the tunks on an incoming call.

Thanks Sarond. So I got this going finally. However, the users are telling me that every 2nd call is failing. Did my testing and they are correct. When I run CCS tracing, the calls that are failing are not even hitting the controller. This is the same for inbound and outbound calls. Is this an issue with my controller  config or the gateway itself and what should I be looking for

Cheers!

If you do a STATE command do you get two idle channels ? Is the trunk group circular or terminal ?
