Configure UC360 for SIP

I picked up a mitel UC360 to use on an Asterisk system.  I can't seem to get the UC360 properly configured.  When I try a ping test from the device to any address it fails.  Are there any guides to configuring this phone on Asterisk?

It's just a basic SIP device, point it at the call server and tell it the extension credentials and away you go... We use them on Digium and Bicom (both Asterisk based) all the time with no problems.

Hey Guys... I've been struggling with this darn UC360 for a couple of months now.  Plug it in, it powers up, works fine, just won't connect to the network.  I've done a factory reset, still no connection.  If anyone has experience with this device and can help, my contact information is below.  Obviously, (or maybe not so obviously) We are willing to pay for support.  (it's 7 am as I post this.  Please don't call until 9 am)

Corey, after it powers up are you configuring the network options in the UC360 itself?

I have configured everything I recognize.  Not certain that it's all correct.

Generally all I do is configure the SIP settings to reflect the PBX server address and the Username/Login name as the extension.

I haven't set this up on Asterisk but that's all I do get get the basics working on a MCD 3300.

If you're on a Mitel system this guide walks you through set up on the PBX.

Yeah, the UC360 is really a pretty basic SIP device, just has a bunch of plugins for conference features... Plug it in, go to the settings menu and tell it where the SIP server is and give it the username and password for the extension, and set time and data. That is pretty much it and all we ever do with all the systems we use. We have used it on several Asterisk based PBXs (Digium and Bicom), and Mitel systems.

The issue is that there's a red icon in the upper right indicating that the device is disconnected from the network.  When plugged into an ethernet cable that I am certain works, I can't see it from our router and a ping from the device to 8.8.8.8 fails.

I did try setting a static address.  No love.  I have not been able to ping either to or from the device.

Sounds to this layman like a faulty device. We know your cable works, but is the path from the jack to the switch tested too?

Usually that red box goes yellow when there's network, but the settings don't jive.

Only had it connected to micloud for a couple of months then unused for several months.  When I switched to asterisk and plugged it in red icon. I was hoping that it was user error rather than faulty device.  Is there any place to send it for repair other than mitel?

Are you sure that you are plugging it in to the correct port under the UC 360? Is the switch or power brick providing enough power to support the UC 360; it is a class 3 device.

Is your network setup to use VLAN IDs for the voice network? The UC 360 does not recognize VLAN IDs without turning that feature on. You can also statically assign the VLAN ID as well.
