SIP trunk connected by FIM Card
« on: April 05, 2016, 07:32:52 AM »
I have a question if is there any possibility to direct connect SIP trunk using FIM card? If Yes what kind of FIM card I must use?

No. a FIM card must be connected to a FIM card on the other side, either on a peripheral cabinet or an NSU. SIP is an IP protocol, so it has to connect to the controller via an IP over Ethernet interface, and a FIM port is not Ethernet.

Via FIM, meaning Fiber Interface Module??? No, that is not possible... Assuming you mean for one of the Mitel PBX's, which use them as a semi-proprietary connection to expansion cabinets with matching FIM cards, they are not a "universal" interface like a system's IP connection.

Sure you can, but it is just another switch... connecting your SIP connection would be no different (logically) from connecting it to another switch, it is still going to ingress into your network/Voice VLAN.
