If you do a wireshark trace are the receiving the 180 ringing? If they are, and the phone does not ring then I would look at replacing the phone.

what do you mean 180 ringing, when i check with wire-shirk i did not find any thing like that, but when i dial internally to that phone it gets "who has this IP..........."
any idea why caller not hears the ringing tone?

Unless you see 180 Ringing in your trace, the phone will not ring.

Please see this link which explains the the 180 Ringing  - http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3960.txt

Can you attach your full trace?

I can see that your trace if fine, the 3300 routes the call to your x-lite application.

So I want to clarify, that the ringing is heard on the x-lite application when rung, but you don't hear the ringing through the earpeice of your landline or mobile?

I know that there is a new option in MCD 4.1 called 'Avoid Signaling Hold to the Peer', which prevent the 3300 from send hold restrictions to the peer. But as you are running 8.0 this option wont be there.

Can you let me know which provider you are using and can you paste your SIP Peer profile.

Thanks

I'm probably flap'n here but isn't the client ring back audio controlled by the client?

A pretty quick test would be to install the client on another machine and retry.

Hi Ralph, it all depends on the call scenario type, there is not hard and fast rule about this. I have been trying to clarify with someone in Mitel about local and remote ringback.

I have this exact issue with XO and it seemed to fix my issue.

Will have to wait and see if it breaks anything.
