Button to send incoming calls to voicemail
« on: December 14, 2015, 04:20:18 PM »
At our firm the external number will ring a hunt group of about 4 internal extensions.  Occasionally, we have random staff meetings and want all incoming calls to go to voicemail during that time.  Right now I go in to the call flow, edit mailbox and change the schedule weekly on hours from blind transfer to any ext to voicemail.  Save.  Then when meeting is over and we have people that can answer the phones, go back to call flow and edit on hours from voicemail back to transfer to any extension.

There has to be an easier way.  What I would like to do is program a key for the main receptionist.  Then she can press a button and all incoming calls would go to voicemail taking me and the long steps out of the equation.  Is this possible?

Thanks in advance!

Look up the FAC for remote DND and put the hunt group into DND while you're in the meeting.
Then use the remote DND off code to put it back to normal.

True.  I've used Night 2 mode for this type of thing many times.

Thank you both for replying.  However, none of what you said makes any sense to me.
I'm new to Mitel.  Where would I even begin?
Step by step or screenshots please.

Thanks!

jsnapp,
Just an FYI, FAC = Feature Access Codes. I'm not sure of Mitel's system defaults (As you CAN change the FAC's) but ours is:

DND Remote - *331
DND Remote Cancel - *332

So to activate the DND Remote I would dial *331 <Then your Extension number, Hunt Group number, etc.>

Then to cancel the DND Remote I would dial *332 <Then your Extension number, Hunt Group number, etc.>

You can certainly program the receptionist's buttons (You'll need two of em' for this though) to make it a simple "One Button Press", or a "Two Button Press" I guess in this case. One button to activate it, and the other to deactivate it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
-Iron

Thank you IronGladiator!!!
I found the FAC for DND Remote as #*5 and DND Remote cancel as ##5

If I program a key, how would I do that?  Line type and button dir number.

Line Type would be SpeedCall and dir number would be the #*5 and then the second button would be ##5

I've got the codes, but apparently I don't know what goes after the code.  I've tried hunt group and call flow mailbox number and neither one work.

jsnapp,
I guess start from the beginning, what is the telephone number you would call to normally get the 4 phones to ring, and what does that telephone number point to? (A single extension that on the other three phones have ringing appearances on? Maybe an actual hunt group? etc.)

Thanks,
-Iron

The firms external number 620-24x-xxxx which then rings internal extension 1706, 1720, 1725, 1771, 1774 and 1775.
All 6 numbers are members of Ring group 79994.

Under hunt group there is 1790 for voice, 3090 for voicemail and 3091 for HCIReroute.
I hope this helps.
