Call Forwarding Question
« on: October 23, 2014, 02:08:59 PM »
Hi All,
I have a customer that has the Mitel 3300 and SIP trunks. They have 3 physical extensions in this group, they are: 5057, 5058, 5059. They also have four analog extensions in this group, they are: 5050, 5051, 5052, 5053. Currently their main DID in the "System Speed Calls" form routes to the 5050 analog extension. In the "Call Rerouting" form 5050 goes to #5050 (Which is a hunt group). In the "Hunt Groups" form there is indeed a #5050 hunt group with the members of: 5051, 5052, 5053. On all 3 Mitel 5330 IP phones they have 3 keys programmed as "Key System" with 5051-5053 set as the "Button Directory Number" and set to "Ring".

...knowing this, the question is:
They would like a button(s) (Set On, Set Off) that will forward the main number from the hunt group to an external number. How would I accomplish this?

Thanks,
-Iron

The mind boggles.....I don't really understand that routing unless there is more to it than first meets the eye.

use night service and in night service reroute (always)the main number to a speed call to the external number. Depending on software level you would have to have two buttons, one with speed dial of night service on and one wit speed dial of night service off. If there are VM's involved then that may no longer work....

Use 3 party call forwarding to forward 5050 to a speed dial number that points to the external number.

You'll need a button for on and one for off.

Hey ya ralph,
I tried doing that with the 5050. What I noticed was that there was no "Call Forward Profile", built for 5050. And while I could create one, it wouldn't let me turn it Off.....it kept it On and enabled. Which I thought was weird. Now I haven't tested it, but I intend to tomorrow with the customer.

Thanks,
-Iron
