What software level are you upgrading to as there are different software installer versions for different levels of software?

My system is running MCD 3.3 release 9.0.0.41. I intend to upgrade to MCD 4.0 SP4. If you've got it, pls share with me. Thank you

You know you need your AMC record updated with the new version, and thus active SWA, in order to upgrade, right?

Meaning you should have access to MOL, thus the software installer download as well.

That is correct. You can upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 or within the the same software release (4.x), but if you go to 5.x or beyond, you will need to be up to date and therefore have access to the software you need.

Yes, if you stay in the same Major/Minor (SP/PR changes only) you do NOT need to upgrade the AMC record... but if you change even minor revision you need to update the AMC record or it will not be valid...

4.2.0.15 -> 4.2.2.25 .... No AMC update required
4.1.0.8 -> 4.2.0.15 .... AMC update required

So it's A.B.X.Y (Major.Minor.ServicePack.Build#)

If A and B stay the same, no change in AMC is required, if either A or B changes, AMC must be updated or the license will not be valid. If only the Service Pack or Build # changes, no AMC record change is required.

So first question, what type of 3300 ICP have you got? MX, MXe, CX etx (MX cant be upgraded, CX needs a ram upgrade if it only has 256)
then you need to look at your Software Assurance to license the upgrade (as mentioned above), your vendor should be able to check this for you, who should also supply the installer and software.
If you plan to go beyond 4.0 you will need to go to 4.0 and then do a database migration before upgrading any further.
