Mitel 5550 IP Software Download

I did a search and all the Mitel 5550 questions seem to be in this forum so I hope it's the right place.

My company has upgraded (finally) to Windows 7 64-bit machines.  I need to move the Mitel 5550 IP console to one of the new machines.  From Googling a lot I see there are versions of the software that fully support Windows 7 64-bit.  I cannot find a download for anything.

I did a chat on the Mitel site and they said they don't offer downloads and to contact my provider.  I'm trying to avoid contacting my provider because their support rates are astronomical.  I'd like to try setting up the console on the new machine myself by trying to duplicate the settings on the current machine. 

However, I cannot do anything without an installer for the current software.  Is it available to download anywhere?

You can only get it from the official MITEL download site, which requires a login.
Only accredited engineers have access to this.
I don't think this forum would take kindly to me attaching it here.

I think you have to ask your provider, surly they can email it to you without charge.
You have paid for the product!

It's okay, don't get in trouble.  You'd be surprised though.  Once we emailed support because our software would not come online.  It ended up coming online on its own prior to them responding to our request.  They finally contacted us, and all we told them was that it's working now ... and we were charged, for literally nothing, heh.

I still don't think you understand... in order to help you get the right console software, we need to know the version of software the PHONE SYSTEM (MCD/3300 controller) is running, the consoles and phone system software must be a matched set. The version or part number of the console itself is irrelevant.

To determine this version, log into the phone system's system management page and look for an "About" button in the either the top right or bottom left corner, click it and another window should open giving the version information.

I'm sorry, yes I didn't understand.

When I get to the office in the morning I will figure it out.  I run low-level tech in my office, this is my first time dealing with the phone system.  I didn't understand the terms.

Log into the web interface for the phone system and click the About button.

Thanks, that is way more than is needed... the Release Level was the important part.

The correct 5550 IP Console software is version 4.2.0.28 for all MCD 5.0 systems.

Give me a few minutes and I will send you PM with more information.

Thanks for all the help.  I was able to get the phone systems running on my own.

One more question.  When I log in to the phone "192.168.1.2" I can log in to the phone but when I click "Group Administration Tool" nothing happens, nothing loads or pops up (none of the 3 options load).

Pop-up blocker is off, 192.168.1.2 is loaded in to the compatibility view settings.  I've tried F12 dev mode and loaded the site in IE7, IE8, IE9, and IE10, all the same.

Any ideas?  If I can't get in there I can't edit the names and extensions of people in my office.

You must use IE8, not compatibility mode... Or Chrome/Firefox with IE Tab Multi plugin set for IE8 Forced Mode (8888)

Besides, Group Administration Tool will not do you any good... You need access to System Administration Tool
