Removing a number from the 3300
« on: April 11, 2012, 09:17:13 AM »
Hi all,

Apologies in advance, i am a novice on phone systems, but we've been left in the lurch by our IT guy and have some loose ends.

We have a 3300 system here. Up until recently we had 2 companies in our office, the main company has 3 lines, sales, tech support ect, which is staying but the other company (now gone) had just one line ***115 for example. we want to remove that number from service or "turn it off"

Is this possible? I know my way around PCs/Servers but this is slightly new territory for me. Any help would be great
Regards

Sam

Sam,
The process is different depending on the types of trunks you have. Do you know if you have CO lines, T1, or PRI at all?

When you say remove 1 line, does that mean 1 phone or 1 line coming in from your carrier.
If it's the carrier, you'll need to call them and have them disconnect it.
If it's a phone then you'll need to delete all the keys from the phone and them delete the phone.

Bluewhite: I don't i'm afraid!

Ralph: I think it's a phone, not a line, as it comes through on the same number with the last 3 digits being different, if that's any help

Do a quick test here:  I'll assume you're in the US.
Call the phone from an outside line.  Do you hear a double ring?
This isn't a fool proof test but if you hear a double ring then odds are really good it's on a PRI.
If that's the case then you only need to delete the phone.

I think all you have to do is delete the phone.
1st edit the telephone directory and delete any names associated with it.
Next remove all the keys.
Then you should be able to delete the actual extension.

Can you tell us version of software you are using?

Wow.  Really old software.

Go to devices then edit the form Multiline Key Assignment form.   (Doing this from memory.  I don't have access to software that old for ref)
Find the phone and clear all the keys.
Next go to Multiline IP phone assignment.  Find the phone and delete it.

Any way of updating?

I've found the key assignment, there's an option to "clear" would that be what i'm looking for?

I can't see Multiline IP phone assignment on the list.... Would some screen shots perhaps help your memory?

Under Multiline Key Assignment, there's a section entitled Softkeys, i've found the label that matches the number i want to get rid of, the line type is multi call, but i don't see any way to delete it, unless i'm missing something

To delete it press the "clear" button.

Which button is it?

Hi Ralph, I've cleared it for all the users, but it still rings one persons phone. Fine on the rest of ours though

What button is ringing on the last phone?
What error did you get when you tried to remove it?

I didn't get an error, the button i believe was 204, it has removed it and is now saying "Not assigned"
