Copper Trunks Not Releasing
« on: April 14, 2021, 11:36:07 AM »
The user receives an inbound call then transfers the call to a external number connecting two trunks together.

When the call is completed the Mitel keeps the trunks in a busy state and doesn't release.

The CO is sending the Disconnect message but the Mitel is not releasing.

Check your CO Trunk Circuit Descriptors and make sure Calling Party Disconnect is set to Yes, and Ignore Far End Disconnect is set to No... The timer that looks for how long battery must be removed from the circuit to be considered a disconnect is there too, Disconnect Timer is 500ms by default (1/2 second), which is usually long enough for most CO trunks, but you might have to shorten it a little. I wouldn't recommend going below 250ms as phantom disconnects could occur. There are a few other parameters that might affect this, but this is where I would check first.

In my lab Calling Party Disconnect and Ignore Far End Disconnect is set to NO and it works fine.

But I will try it out on Customer System

Set Calling Party Disconnect to Yes... You can verify the disconnect pretty easily with a buttset, put it on the line and call in, then hang up after someone answers... You should clearly hear the battery drop off with a significant CLICK sound and the trunk should be dropped.
