Roadmap for 5000/250?
« on: May 19, 2020, 12:47:06 PM »
Has anyone heard how much longer they'll be supporting the 5000/250?  I have a client that's looking to buy one, but I don't want to push them to this platform if it's going to go away before long.

Thanks

There are no plans to end support for the 250 system as of now. They are currently working on the new platform for the 6900 phones. (I do NOT recommend getting these phones tho. They are hardly usable IMO).

The 250 is a great platform without decent phones. Not a great combination.

To make sure there is no confusion, I mean the platform is fine, but specifically the new phones are not. Stick with the old ip phones 53xx series. They are great.

I would agree with this 100%!!! The 69xx series phones are great... On the MiVoice Business platform, but on the MiVoice Office 250 they are basically junk, the 5320/30/40/60 are 1000% better.

I have no worries of the platform falling out of support any time soon.

The 6900 phones are beautiful looking and have potential for a lot of new features (Custom ringtones, bluetooth compatibility, etc) But due to the Massive lack of existing features I would not recommend putting these anywhere. The phone manager platform is coming along nicely. Being able to have reporting/recording and other things all in one server (Which could literally be a repurposed PC) is a great idea. They really need to rethink the licensing. It is crazy to require more than 1 license for a phone. Xarios is doing a good job with what they are working on but the restrictions mitel is putting on them is causing issues. Mitel is the one that had them make it so the phones CANNOT be remote without a MBG. I can program my firewall to make it secure, I don't need an entire other platform in addition to the MCS/PBX/expensive phone/Licensing for everything.
