How to factory reset 69xx series phones
« on: January 25, 2019, 12:50:47 PM »
I purchased several used 69xx series phones and need to factory reset them. With my Mitel 53xx series phones I can just hold the # when they boot and it gives me the option, but that doesn't seem to work with the 69xx phones. Does anyone know how to do this with these phones?

you need to get ito the advanced setting, default password is 73738. If you are quick, you can get into the settings while it is booting.

I don't have the admin code and I've tried both Mitel default codes (73738 & 22222) but neither works.  Is there a way to reset them without the admin codes?

Does the boot sequence web recovery work on this model like the 6800 series? Press 1 and # simultaneously while the phone is booting up until web recovery and the IP address shows up. Then reset it by uploading the FW...

Maybe this helps:

"The access to the sets "Advanced" settings menu is controlled via the MiVB "System Security Management" form of the System Administration tool. Using the "Phone Administrator Passcode" field.

By default when a 69xx series set powers up, the access code for the "Advanced" menu in the 69xx set is 73738 (or RESET by keying the letters) but as soon as the set has registered with an MiVB system it will adopt the value configured in the Phone Administrator Passcode field of the System Security Management form.

I factory reset the device once with the 73738 code but when I tried doing that again, the code didn't work anymore. How's that possible?

No, that doesn't work.
With the 53xx series, we had ays to interrupt the boot sequence to force a factory reset or a reload of the firmware.
With the 69xx series, you can press the settings button during bootup, if the bootup gets that far.
