I have two locations. One has a Mitel controller and the other one doesn't. They can both see each other on the network. I moved to the site that doesn't have a controller. I was wondering if I could take a mitel phone with and program the phone to talk back to the controller.

We have three buildings here with one controller.  We have a fiber link between the buildings and the IP phones work fine.

Reboot the phone and as it boots up press and hold key 7 and you will be prompted to to 'configure teleworker', so just punch in the IP address of your Mitel controller.

If they don't have POE switches at the other site to power the phone you might need to get a POE injector.

I press * for yes
Then "Delete/New Settings" *=Delete #=New
I press # for new
Then "IP Address Type" *=IPV4 #=IPV6
I press # for IPV4
Then "Teleworker Gateway"
I am assuming this is the gateway address of my mitel control

Never mind the gateway is the IP of the controller

If your buildings are on the same network, either by direct fiber, metro network, or VPN you would not necessarily have to use teleworker.

However, you will want to make sure that you have an E911 number for each address and the CESID programmed correctly across buildings.

Just give the phone the option 125 with the controller address in it. As your networks are connected, the phone can register to the controller.
