Operator Voicemail ?
« on: June 19, 2014, 06:30:20 PM »
3300 MXe 2-Clustered Rel 4.2 / 10.2.0.26_2  EMB-VM 6-SX200 10-ASU

I've been here 6 months and today I found out the operator has a voice mailbox. I found this out because I received a call saying the voicemail is full and no one was answering at the switchboard. I asked our main operator, who said yes, she does have to step away from time to time and can miss a call. So I asked if she checked the voicemail and she said "What voicemail?"

We have 2 - Superconsole 1000s. They don't have a message waiting indicator that I know of.

Is there some indicator I don't know about ? Can I set something up other than another phone with MWI buttons ?

At night, the phone has a few alternate ring locations, so calls don't get missed, hopefully.

Thank you.

You could make the mailbox call to notify. I'm assuming embedded vm and the calls that get into the mailbox are from a DN button on both SS1000. In this scenario, having a visual lamp would require some extra programming. You likely have read posts that tell how to break the vm integration or how to use a special character to make it end up in the desired mailbox.

I myself would likely make the DN *XXXX and let it light XXXX's phone.

Would say its not the operator who has a mailbox given that you can't MWI the console. Its more there is a general greeting mailbox which is a dumping group if the voicemail doesn't know what to do with a call.

So you options are have the voicemail dial out to indicate it has a message, email or have the operators login as part of their moring process.

Well, I've been looking at this to try and figure out what is going on.

The main console is 7000, w/ No Reroute, 1st 7056, 2nd Normal.

So the concern is, if someone is calling the main number 4375, which is ringing at the console, I am thinking it follows the path above and then it hits the menu node below?  So calls go past all these extensions, before defaulting to the Operator Extension ?

Extension  Oper Ext      1       2      3      4       5      6       7      8      9
   4375          0           6554 6559 6326 6911 6520 6556 6937 6537 6545

Lastly, it must end up on that operator voicemail that I have to create some type of notification for.

Thanks.
