I would check mailbox 799 and use advanced to see if it has an alternate extension of what you might consider the main number

Thanks, it does have 3 alternate extensions. 830, 840 and 899. 830 and 840 are ring groups. 899 is the alternate to the main numbers.
This I assume means when alternate night1/2 is triggered and passes into NuPoint (770), it looks at what extension sent it there and triggers the mailbox message for that mailbox.

Loc Num is on of the first commands I use during call routing troubleshooting. Only way to start this IMHO

Thanks for the tip. I used Test Extension in this case and that gave me the info I needed but I'll keep that command in mind for as well.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / How routing in NuPoint works?
« on: September 25, 2021, 07:25:04 AM »
I'm a total noob with Mitel so please be gentle.
There is a Hunt group on this system of ext 770 which is of type NuPoint. I assume this then passes the call to the voicemail system.
Inside NuPoint are user mailboxes and the Night Service mailbox (mailbox 799).
My query is how does the call route into NuPoint and then know to go to 799 for night service?

Thank you so much. 899 is a hunt group (was on page 2 and didn't notice 2 pages.)
Members of that hunt group were 901 and 901.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Can't work out call flows
« on: September 24, 2021, 12:59:40 AM »
So we have a Mitel system that someone else installed but we're stuck supporting it. I'm having trouble working out how the inbound call flow was configured.
So far I have:
1) Call comes in on external DID, I can see that in the Direct Inwards Dialing Service table. The DID is told to go to ext 899.
2) I look in the Call Rerouting table and find Number 899. It's told to go to Call Rerouting  - Day (1) and Call - Rerouting - Night1/2 (2).
3) I then look in the Call Rerouting Always Alternative table (this is the correct place right?). ID 1 has No Reroute on all columns and ID 2 reroutes to directory number 770. 770 is the NuPoint extension which will be for Night Service voicemail.
My query is since ID 1 has no No Reroute, how do I find out where the call goes then?
On the phones they have 2 buttons for Line 1 and Line 2 Key System (ext 901 and 902) and they're the phones that ring when a call comes in.
I don't know how the calls goes from ext 899 and no Reroute to ext 901 or 902.
There are no hunt or ring groups containing 901 or 902 either.
I'm missing a menu somewhere.

Thanks in advance.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Show the number the caller called
« on: August 12, 2021, 02:49:29 AM »
Hi everyone,

We have a client with a MVB system running as a virtual machine on prem.
They have a 100 number range and want 1 of those numbers to be advertised publicly for a new business venture they're starting. The inbound routing I can do however when a caller calls the advertised number they need to know that the caller rung the other business so they can answer the call appropriately. Is this possible to show something on the screen of the phone of the number they called. They use Mitel 69XX series phones (6920, 6930 and 6940).

Thank you so much everyone that replied.
Wow licenses are expensive.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Adding more UCC licenses?
« on: December 04, 2020, 04:29:47 AM »
So one of our Mitel clients we sold MiVB Express to 2 yrs ago has bought more phones but needs 1 more license.
They originally purchased 54008369 which is for SWA for 5yrs.
We're now 2yrs in so can I just buy 1 * 54008369 for 3yrs and it be added on to make 1 license extra?

I've never bought extra licenses before so not sure how it works.

10
So our client has run out of licenses and bought 2 new phones (6920's).
Can I use the Service Level "Trusted" so the phone works. The user and phone doesn't need any other features like Hot Desking. Just a basic extension.

11
Thanks, this is what I ended up doing. In other PBX's a Hunt group can ring all extensions, in Mitel land, it's a called a Ring Group.

12
So our client has a hunt group setup and the members of that hunt group are call presence buttons on the phones.
The client wants to have the phones setup so after X seconds, it goes to another set of extensions.
My thought process this:
Assign a COS to the first hunt group and set the Call Forward No Answer timer to X seconds.
Assign a 2nd new COS to the 2nd hunt group and set that to No Answer timer to something high. It must just keep ringing.

A) Will this work?
B) Is there a better/easier way?

Thanks in advance, this forum is awesome.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / SIP trunk gives up trying to login
« on: November 21, 2019, 11:05:20 PM »
So we had an issue over night where the SIP provider we use for 2 Mitel systems had some issue over night. Both Mitels just needed the trunk resaved to force a login and then all was sweet.
It seems the PBX just gives up retrying.
If there a setting (and if so, where is it) that adjusts it's retry times etc?

Thanks,

Thanks, They have 40 odd so that suits fine.
So it's paging groups I need to configure?
