Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Non ACD Phones Pick Calls from Queue
« on: December 17, 2021, 11:36:20 AM »
All, is there a way for a non ACD enabled phone to pick a call out of the ACD queue to help the rest of the staff that are logged into the queue's?

Thanks

Solved

Found an option inside our Ascom PBX that allows each device object to have a special "Send Number" attached to them.  Once this was programmed with each phones DID number the phones are now able to call out to Verizon phones that have the Call Filter enabled.

Thanks

All,

I am having an issue where my 3300 is the telco connected controller but also serves an Ascom PBX inside my campus.  With Verizon utilizing spam blocking they are now blocking all of my outbound calls coming from our Ascom portable phones.  When I see the call come up on my cell it only shows the 4 digit number of the ascom phone and not the full 10 digit number that is associated with the phone.  I am using the DID Ranges for CPN Substitution form and the CPN Substitution form and have all of my PRI's configured to report the correct numbers for each internal extension.

Any thoughts suggestions?

Thanks

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / ACD Phone Busy Issue
« on: November 26, 2021, 05:22:58 PM »
All,

On our ACD phones I have an issue where the staff person answered the caller and then needs to talk to someone else pertaining to the call so they place the caller on hold and dial the overhead page number to reach that person.  The problem is the ACD phone will not allow it's self to be setup with a multicall line 2 so the person who got paged will call back but the phone is busy.

I am thinking of just setting up a separate single line extension number on these phones to be paged out so they can still receive the call from the paged staff person.  My only fear is they may want to transfer the call to the staff person who called in.

What has other organizations used to accomplish this goal?

Thanks in advance

The solution we use with our 3300's to accomplish your goal is to generate a speed dial number using the System Speed Calls form and then use that 4 digit number inside your phones call forwarding path to forward to your cell phone.

All,  I have found a fix for this issue that works 100% of the time.  I too thought the spring was getting weak and was re-bending it to get the phones to be able to go off hook but the problem continued to come back.  I have even had to RMA phones back to the manufacturer over this issue till we found out what was causing the problem.

To fix this issue and it also works for buttons that are not reliable anymore as well.  You must take the main circuit board off of the phone exposing the button pads.  Just tilt the board to the side so you don't have to disconnect the speaker.  Next you have to clean the little metal cups at the bottom of each button including the hook flash button with a Q-Tip and some alcohol.  I also clean the contacts on the circuit board where the buttons press with the Q-Tip as well.  Then reassemble the phone and all of your buttons will work like new again and the handset hook will also work properly.

This issue is caused by corrosion in the contact and when I was tensioning the spring it was causing the button to press harder which continued to make the contact till the corrosion got too much for an electrical contact to be made to answer the phone.  By cleaning the contacts it puts the phone back to a brand new state and the electrical contacts work properly.

Key note, don't over clean the rubber membrane too much because I believe they may have an electrically conductive material on them and don't want to wash away too much of it.

Small Update,

I did a test where I swapped screens with a known good phone and the washed out screen problem follows the main board in the phone and not the screen it's self.  This is sort of good news as changing screens on these phones is a pain.  I still have not been able to identify any component that could be causing this issue.  If anybody is good at electronics repair it would be good to hear from them on this issue.

I too have the same issue with my Mitel 5340e IP phones and the 5330 phones exhibit the same behavior.  I am starting to wonder if the problem is more a bad component on the mainboard such as a capacitor because this issue is similar to what would happen to an old Gamegear console where the capacitors go bad and you cannot control the contrast on the screen anymore.  I'm hoping to figure out what component is failing so I can purchase the electronic component to be able to fix them myself rather than going though the long hassle of RMAing the phones though our vendor.

Key note on the handset issue where if you slowly pickup the handset the spring may not be able to get the button pushed to turn on the phone for answering. Tensioning the hookflash spring sometimes can fix it but my latest phone was unfixable by adding tension to that spring.  I tried another option where I took a Q-tip and cleaned the circuit board at the spot that the answer button presses and the electrical contact pad.  Key note don't clean to hard on the rubber contact pad because there is a substance on it that makes the electrical connection and you don't want to wash that off to much.  I just gave it just a slight cleaning and you can see a little black come off onto the Q-tip.  After reassembling the phone it was working perfectly again.

Yes I did default the phone.  There is one option, since I connected it to my Mitel 5000.  I could switch the phone back to our 3300's and see if it redownloads the firmware if that will fix it.

I just double checked the TW mode on the phone.  It currently is not programmed with any teleworker settings.

If this is your MOH you may also need to put a 600Ohm conditioner on the line.  I personally purchased this device from Bogan to correct sound issues we where having.  Lookup Bogan CC4052m this mixer will also give you the ability to adjust the volume of the MOH output.

Thanks for the info Ralph,

Here is my monkey wrench.  I tried all of the above and switching the bad phone with a knowen good spare, the spare worked and all of my programmable keys showed up.  Funny thing was, and this is my monkey.  I brought the bad phone down to my testing office and hooked it up to a mitel 5000 controller.  As soon as the phone booted up all of the programmable keys I have programmed on the 5000 test phone appeared.

Corrupt firmware on the phone maybe?

I'm gonna try setting the phone back up on the 3300 cluster again and see if I get the same issue.

Just to give you an idea of what our environment looks like.  We have 3 mitel 3300's clustered together and our main 3300 has 10 IP sip trunks connected over to our clinic's Mitel 5000.  Fun network :-)

Hello,

I have a cluster of mitel 3300's running MCD 7.0 SP1 PR1 13.0.1.28.  I need to know if this 1 phone of mine is defective or if there is a programming error somewhere on my Mitel 5330e IP phone.  During bootup, the phone screen comes up as normal with the typical information showing on the screen.  Once the application loads on the phone I get the station extension on the bottom of the phone and all of the sub system keys on the top but none of the user keys will display the labeling of the options I programmed on the phone.

Has anybody else experienced this sort of issue.  I have over 50 IP phones in my location and none of the others have ever produced this issue.

Also all of the programmed keys perform their action even though the display shows no label for the button.

Thanks in advance for the help
