My Mitel tech made a change yesterday which broke all outbound calling over our ESI SIP trunk.  He was trying to get SIP calls going over our MBG virtual server, I believe.  Every phone gets "Access Denied."  He reverted the changes but nothing has worked.

He created a ticket with ESI but we've been down almost 48hrs.  Inbound works fine.  He's doing packet captures with no luck.

Any ideas what could be going on or what I should look into on our 3300?

We upgraded from 5330e to 6940 phones at our front desk.  3300 controlle.  Now they use Hot Desk logins instead of ACD, from what I understand. 

The issue is if they miss a call, the phone logs them out now.  My vendor says they can't have a login button, so they must enter in the Hot Desk extension and password every time once they realize they're logged out and not taking calls.  It's frustrating. 

1. Is there a way to keep the phone from logging out, only put the phone into Make Busy if they miss a phone call?
2. Is there a way to create a Hot Desk Login button so they don't have to enter in the ext/pass every time?

Should be an easy fix.... I don't get any data on SDMR output when someone does a page (dials 66) over the PA systems.

Is this a COS setting?  Not finding anything.

This is frustrating!  I can have two people on hold but when I hit the Conference soft key to bring them together, I get the dial tone.  I can't get 2 other phones to conference in with my IP 6000.

I've tried messing with the Line Settings and all that. 

Could someone please point me which setting I need to change to get this to work?

I was about to purchase a refurbished PolyCom IP 7000 but realized it needs to sit directly on the Mitel VLAN, since it can't understand the VLAN tagging from the DHCP server. 

I'd like a PoE conf phone that also has an open port for laptops to connect to.

What's the best IP conference phone to use?

I have an extension, let's say x6000 that is our IT Help Desk.  I assign this extension as a Multicall button to everyone's phone in IT.  So, if you dial x6000, it rings on all the IT phones.

My issue, when you dial x6000, it doesn't say on your phone who you are dialing.  I want it to say "IT Help Desk" when you call x6000 from a desk phone.

Is there a place to set this?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / 3300 - Kari's Law

My Mitel rep wants to move us to a cloud based POS system, mainly because of Kari's 911 law.  We have 70 existing hotel rooms and will be adding another 100 in 24 months.

The 3300 works great and I have no desire to change over 200 phones and deal with my analog phones/alarms/etc I still have out there.

Surely there is a way with my 3300 to allow 911 dispatch to know which hotel room called 911?  Right now you can dial "911" and get to the operator, no 9911 required.

Am I missing something?  I also was under the impression that Kari's law applies to new hotels, not existing ones?

We are seeing almost all of the springs that control the HOOK button fail on our 5320e and 5330e phones.  I can't believe Mitel designed it this way, this is not acceptable.

Even if we take apart the phones and readjust the little metal spring, it works for a while and fails again. 

Does anyone have a permanent solution to fix this?  I don't want to buy new 69xx phones just yet.

Mitel SX200, SX2000, and older SX platforms / SX-50 Question....

Here it goes..... 

My Mitel rep says he hasn't touched a SX-50 in at least 10 years, so couldn't really help me.  One of our hotels has a SX-50 in it, works just fine.  I'm trying to see if it can accept a PRI card.  Trying to reduce costs for our circuits.  I'm fairly sure it doesn't support a PRI card, but just need confirmation from someone.  Could someone please tell me?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Enable International Dialing

I need to enable International Dialing for a few suits.

I setup 9011 with Unknown digits dialed in ARS Digits Dialed form.

I have it going to Route 1.   This is what all my other ARS Digits Dialed use.

Route 1 in the ARS Routes form points to COR Group Number 1.

When I dial the number, it says you need a long distance access code, then it switches over to our phone tree.

We don't use access codes.  I'm confused.  Any ideas?

Mitel Software Applications / Saving VM Password

Have a fairly new Mitel 3300 and NuPoint voicemail server.

On my Mitel 5330e phone, I go to SETTINGS -> Voicemail.  I can't login.  It says "Could not login because the server is not configured".

I've checked the COS on both the 3300 and NuPoint and can't find an option for this.  I want my phone to save my voicemail password when I check my messages.

Any ideas?

Our MAS was installed with two NICs, one internal and one external.  It's in the Server-Gateway config.  Teleworker works fine, but I'm now concerned with the security of the built in Linux firewall.  I see there are other options where you can put the MBG on a different server in the DMZ, which is way better in my opinion.

Are there firewall settings for the MAS?  I can't find anything.  I can ping my external IP, which I'd like to disable.  I can also access the 'My Unified Communications' portal from the Internet, which I don't want.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / New 3300 MXe-III

We just got a 3300 MXe-III at our work.  Did the upgrade path from an 10 year old SX-200.  Got a handful of old legacy Supersets/analogs, plus 40 new 5330e/5320e/5304 IP sets.  Using NuPoint for voicemail.

I have a couple questions that my phone vendor hasn't been able to answer yet.  Hoping someone here could help me.  This looks like a great resource and I have a lot of reading to do!

1.  Am I able to setup the Portal on our voicemail server so users can manage their programmable keys and enable/disable Unified Communications (voicemail to email)?  I setup an account on the portal for myself and it doesn't give me very many options.

2. I setup a DID number on my phone (added a Single-Line button with the DID extension).  It works fine but doesn't go to my main voicemail box.  I added the DID number as an Alternate Extension in my NuPoint's voicemail box but that didn't work.  It just rings non stop.  How can I have my DID go to my primary extension's voicemail box?

3. Our 5304 phones only have a single line with the date/time.  How do I get the extension # to show on the second line like it shows in the user guide?
