Title: How to properly setup polycom soundstation Duo to resolve DNS
Post by: HungryHippo on October 29, 2019, 10:27:41 AM
I had setup polycom sound station duo using SIP configuration and I cant seem to get it to pick up the correct date and time. From what I can see it cannot resolve hostnames, so the settings for the NTP are no good since I cant set it manually. Is there a settings im missing. I added manually the DNS server on the Ethernet section.

Does it have a web interface you can use to set the NTP server?

I have never seen a Polycom that doesn't support setting DNS and properly do DNS resolution. That said, most Polycom devices will use DHCP option 42 (NTP) set as IP Address to sync time.

Is your DNS set to a local server/router?  If your using something external (8.8.8.8) the firewall could be blocking port (53).
