MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Page Group Member Limit
« on: September 30, 2020, 05:18:57 PM »
Replacing a 200ICP MX that has 65 phones and a PRI with a MiVO 250 with SIP trunks.
Re-using all the 5212/5224 phones.
Customer's environment requires paging over all phones for emergencies.
200ICP MX has a page group limit of 64.
MiVO 250 engineering guidelines state a PS-1 is required for 30+ members in a page group.  Doesn't mention how many members past 30 that a page group can have if a PS-1 is added.
Does anybody know how many members can be in a page group if a PS-1 is added?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / UPS for MiVoice Office 250
« on: January 29, 2018, 06:30:07 PM »
We have been using Eaton 3S 750, but one of our service guys has been out on a couple calls saying the USB connection is causing Alarm 112  (CPU: Running Low On System Dynamic Memory).  Shutting down the system, removing the USB cable, then restarting the system fixes the problem.  But this leaves no auto shutdown when the power is out and the battery gets low.
Mitel technical support says it is a compatibility issue and told him to check the engineering guidelines for a supported UPS
But engineering guidelines state:
Effective Release 6.0 SP2, monitoring capabilities for previously approved suppliers of UPS units cannot be guaranteed to be compatible with the UPS Monitoring feature.
Anyone have a make/model that is current and working for them?

Just replaced a Norstar that had two paging amps.
Paging port connected to the regular paging amplifier.  CO trunk connected to the talkback paging amp through a Bogen TAMB set to LS trunk and 24VDC.  CO trunk programmed on one phone.  Works fine using the Norstar phone /  CO trunk appearance.
When connected to the MiVO250 phone / CO trunk, the call hangs up automatically after 2 seconds.  Has anyone connected a MiVo250 to a talkback paging amp?
Currently left one Norstar phone active so that they can access the talkback paging amp.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Bria SIP smartphone app
« on: March 03, 2015, 04:24:07 PM »
I have a new install.  MiVoice Office 250 latest software.
They have 3 SIP licenses and they are using the Bria app on their iphones.  Using port forwarding on their sonicwall firewall for when they are remote.
The SIP softphones work both on their internal wifi and remote
The issue is when they come into their office and their cell phones switch from LTE to wifi  the app just sits at 'registering'.  If they shut down the app and restart, it works (prefer not to tell the customer that's how it works)

Has anyone come across this issue?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / UC Advanced softphone with MBG
« on: January 29, 2015, 12:14:32 PM »
MiVoice Office 250 version: 6.0 SP2
MiCollab Version: 6.0.122
Has anyone here setup UC Advanced softphone (desktop client) using the MBG on a 5000?

Customer has decided they wanted to add a remote user using the UCA desktop client softphone, so I will be putting the MiCollab Server into server-gateway mode.  I will be making the changes on the weekend so I am trying to find out beforehand how to set it up.

On the 5000 I created a UC Advanced softphone extension - it appears to be a minet device because in System --> IP-Related Information --> Call Configurations --> (1) it appears in the "Phones" folder along with all the other minet deskphones not in the "SIP Phone Group" folder
Because of this I'm guessing I need to program it as a Minet device (add MAC address which should be A1:21:00:00:XX:XX) on the MBG.  Is this correct?

Want to restrict phones from forwarding calls to a long distance/international numbers (to prevent toll fraud)
Still need them all to be able to call long distance without entering any codes
Still need them all to be able to forward to external local numbers
On the 3300 I just assigned the trunks a COR that could not call long distance / international
Tried putting the trunks in the 'Deny Toll Access' class of service - still able to forward calls to long distance.
Can the 5000 do this?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Changing default numbering
« on: May 26, 2014, 04:59:06 PM »
Our company is about to start installing Mitel 5000s (we currently install Mitel 3300s, 200s and Toshibas).  Most of our sites are less that 75 phones.  Our normal numbering scheme is to start extensions at 200, voice mail pilots 400 and phantom DNs in the 500s.   To keep things similar company wide I was thinking of keeping a similar numbering plan.  (Service technicians know that at most locations they can access voicemail by dialling 400).  I would keep all the default 300s feature codes the same, but change 4, 5, 6 and 7 to 334, 337, 338 and 339.

For all the seasoned 5000 techs, are there any drawbacks to making the above changes?
