Same thing... although a hotline Assoc Dir Number can be a speed call, but it doesn't work to put just put in the leading ARS digit, it's not a valid destination., it must have ZERO digits to follow...

Quote
To program an analog device to hotline to an external number:

1) Program an exact ARS route to the external number (for example: 901291436888 with 0 digits to follow).

2) System Speed Calls form - Program a speedcall to the external number (for example: speedcall 4000 to 901291436888).

3) Associated Directory Numbers form - Program the extension number to hotline to the speedcall. For example directory number 2232, Associated Type - Hotline, Associated Number 4000 (speedcall to the external number).

We have tried to find a way to do this since release 4... Not MCD 4.0, I mean the OLD Release 4 (which is when I was introduced to the 3300), and it isn't possible to have a station go off hook and have the ARS digit inserted for you, you have to use a different method.

v2win,

Having it dial an entire number is not the issue. The issue was just dial the outgoing extension and wait for the user to dial the remainder of the number. Here the outgoing digit is an 8, but when I have the speedcall just put in an 8 it doesn't work.

Thanks,

TE

What type of trunks and extension did you use for your testing?

I tested with an analog station as well as a 5340. The trunks were SIP

Guys,

It depends on where the device exists. It could go out PRI, SIP, or LD T-1 depending on where the device is located and number dialed. I believe my tests were sending me out the PRI though.

Thanks,

TE

v2win, be sure your ARS doesn't have 1+10 without the 9.
If that works then it's a behavior change.
I'll have to find time to test.

I just tested V2Win's programming.  I used a non-prime line for testing.
It works.  (Has no one ever tried this before????)

You lose some features such as redial, internal dialing and number correction before dialing.  But this works.  Think Fax Machines(!)

Here how it's done:
1) find an unused number to use as a speed dial
2) Program a system speed dial with an actual number of either 9, 8 or 0 depending on what your outside line access is.  Tick the "Overrides Toll Control" box and save.
3) In the Associated Directory Numbers form enter the directory number of the phone you want to auto dial.  Select "Hot Line" in the drop down box.  In the associated number field put in the system speed dial that you programmed in step 2.

You should now be able to pick up the line and have it auto ring out.

Was this an IP phone Ralph?

I believe this has always worked on IP phones, did you try an analog extension?

I did it from a button on my 5340.
I don't have access to an analog phone so I can't test but I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work.
I believe that V2win said he tested with an analog extension and it worked.

I had to laugh.  I don't know how many times I've said "I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work" when dealing with Mitel systems  ;) ;)

[Solved]

I performed the following steps for an analog port and it seems to be working as expected.

Ralph

Thanks,

TE
