Routing question
« on: March 02, 2017, 03:43:52 PM »
Hi All:

My org has been with Mitel for a long time, and we recently moved from a 5000-series Axxess system to a 3300. So far, we're really liking things.

I'm trying to get up to speed as quickly as possible, so as not to continue to lean on our integration partner, and the learning curve is steep.

Today, my challenge is shown below. One of my users would like

1.   Internal calls made to my number would go to my phone as normal.
2.   External calls made to my number would go to admins phone.

From poking around the Help guide, it looks like the solution is somewhere in the Call Coverage Services/Call Rerouting areas in the MiV Business interface. I'm just unsure of the proper steps that need to be taken.

Can anybody help out or point me to a Step-by-Step guide?

Thank you!

Lou

If you have v6 or newer, the form you are looking for is the Direct indial form. This can be used to assign a target extension for external calls.

Thank you. OK, so I was likely overthinking this one. Yes, we're on V8, so I simply need to point his DID to her extension and we're done. Internal calls will still go to him; external to her, and anything she needs to txfr is as simple as click of button and enter his ext.

Thank you again.

I think you could also forward external calls always to that other extension. I guess it depends on who's voicemail they should get if used

OK, I've hardly played with v8 at all yet, but in my (short and limited) experience, your Call Forward options inclde "external" for "Busy" or "No Answer" but not for "Always".
