MiVoice Business (aka 3300) will never show the name/extension number in the top part of the screen, you have to look at the Prime DN key... that's a MiVoice Office 250 (5000) thing only.

Hi Nathan,
I know what you mean, this is kind of a pet peeve of mine too. The only way I have found to do what you want is by naming the page itself, as you know the 53xx series of phone has three pages (Except the 5320 as that only has two pages - with the latest versions of system firmware) So you'd need to do this for all three pages. but if you use the "53xxPCApp" you can re-name the pages. (The other method is doing it manually via the phone) Yeah its NOT at the top, but atleast it'll have the persons name on it. Below is a screen shot of the 53xx PCApp.

Once you have made the changes you'll see them on your phone. (See below)

One other note, you are limited to up to 15 characters. Hope this helps! I usually use it to label the pages as "Page 1, Page 2, Page 3" as I always thought "****1****, ****2****, ****3****" always looked dumb. On other job sites I'll label the persons name.

Thanks,
-Iron

What I find kinda of cool is that now you can label the prime line just like you can the non-prime lines.

Is this to help people who forget their name half way through the day?

VinceWhirlwind,
Haha, I think this goes back to "Key System's". Which is where I come from (installing Key Systems, e.g. NEC 48, 192, and IPK and IPK II's, and Panasonics, as well as the Mitel 5000) I see you're point though!  :P

Thanks,

ralph,
Are you talking about "Key 1" on the phones? If so, how is that done?!

Thanks,
-Iron

Yes, Key 1.  It's been a few weeks since I found it and changed mine to show my entire DID.  If I remember correctly I changed it under the multiline key assignment form.
If that's not it, when I get time I'll look it up again.

I had a look at this when Ralph mentioned it. First place I looked was Multiline Key Assignment but it is not there.
You need to go to the user and services form and use the Key tab there.

I know we're kinda getting off-topic with this one but is there a certain firmware version you need to be on to see the "Key 1" in "Users and Services"? We are on 7.2 SP1 PR1 (13.2.1.33) I go to users and services and find only this:

I'm curious if this is not the right version, what version was this introduced on?

Thanks,
-Iron

You need to upgrade to MCD 8.0:

"The prime key label is now configurable in the User and Services Configuration form."

Thanks for the responses

the customer has upgraded from a key system that showed the individual extension name and numbers on screen
and were hoping this system could do the same,

You could use the banner to display something. Or the screensaver.
If the issue is, "...but our old system, blablabla..." then give them some funky functionality to enjoy that they never had before.
