PRI channel data
« on: August 05, 2010, 11:13:51 AM »
Is there a way to run a report/log to see if at any point in the past my PRI channels were used up?

I was just informed someone was trying to call in, and was getting some message about something being full.  I have no details.  I am sure it is nothing, but before my CEO come into my office i want to be prepared.

Thanks,

Evan

Yes there is.
Go to the Traffic form.   Set up what you want to track.
I usually choose Trunks, trunk groups and routes.
If you have a true console you may want to select Attendent Groups also.
Be sure to set the hours you want to track.

Now the system will generate a rotation of 10 files, always overwriting the oldest.

To read the files, go to maintenance commands and enter "cat info *.traffic".    (I don't remember if you need to be in a telnet session to do that or not because I always use telnet.)
The system will show you the last 10 hours tracked.   What you see are the actual file names.
To read whats in them enter "type *.traffic<rest of the file name>"
You'll see a lot of info for these trunks.

An even simpler way is to call your carrier and ask them to tell you how many busies you are getting.   Depending on your carrier, they should know.
