No Trunks in Trunk Group
« on: September 28, 2016, 07:40:10 AM »
Hi all,
New to the forum :)

Need some advise, I have a Mitel 250 unit, and 22 extensions, all work ok and have done since April...
The firm that provide support to us for the phones, well, lets just say, they are beyond useless and provide NO support :(
I had to buy 2 new handsets with license 2 weeks ago....
It took them 1 week just to apply the licenses to the system, but they did not complete the setup, so the new phones can only work internally.....

When I try to dial an outside/external number from either of these 2 phones, both display  "No Trunks in Trunk Group".
Am guessing the system has a trunk group called (example):   Group 1:   and inside that group, it lists all the extension numbers that are allowed to dial externally ?
If that's how it works, is it just a case of finding this group and adding the 2 new extensions into that group ?
Cheers

Do you have login access to the system?
I would look at the existing phones associated extensions/Outgoing Extension and make the 2 new phones the same.

This basic level can be done through the WebGUI.

Cheers for the reply :)
I can access the system.....
Looking at all the extensions, it appears the 'outgoing extension' is listed with Value   82002

But for the 2 new phones, they appear to have the value   82001

When I highlight that field and choose change outgoing extension, I get presented with a big list to choose from, unsure which to choose!

My system is Mitel 250 (mitel 5320 phones), 6 SIP Trunks running through a leased line....

**Update**
Picked the SIP Trunk Group, there was 82002....
Clicked that, seems ok ! :D

Default trunk group is 82001.

Glad you got it sorted.

Its safe to say this forum is far more useful than my supplier.  Although they set the system up, support element has gone out the window!!

thanks for your help :)

Next time. since you know the proper value is 82002, you can just left-click in the outgoing extension field and type 82002, you do not need to right click and change it, you can enter the value directly. :)
