Remotely access voicemail for Mitel 3300?

Hey all,

I have recently become responsible for maintaining an older Mitel 3300, using System Administrator version 8.0.9.20, our Messaging Server admin is version 2.0.96

Our sales group wants to change the voicemail that answers if nobody in their group answers. As near as I can tell, I should be able to dial the voicemail extension (4444) and then press * and punch on the extension for their group (4705) and the associated password. Unfortunately when I try this I get prompted for a supervisor password. Is there something that I am doing wrong here?

Complicated by the fact that the group voicemail may not be the number of their group.

It may have been set up with another totally unrelated VM number.

On that release of software the VM access number was usually 600 or maybe 6000 but it could have been changed

You will need to do a bit of detective work to find out what it has been programmed as.

The VM access was changed to 4444. I will have to see if the voicemail for this group is actually 4705, or if it is something else. thanks.
