BT/Hipcom SIP trunk from BT Local Business
« on: August 26, 2016, 09:44:22 AM »
Anyone got MCD working with a BT Hipcom SIP trunk bought through BT Local Business? BT support tell me that the only option is either a) Pay BT to come and configure the MCD b) Pay BT to install a Samsung SIP gateway to sit between MCD and BT.  We're not allowed to know the details to configure MCD to talk directly to BT SIP because of "security reasons".

BTLB say that BT support are wrong, you just need to change the settings and it will work. They can't tell me what the settings should be, because they're not technical.

I have a document from Mitel InfoChannel called "Configure MCD 4.1 for use with BT with a 2-Wire DSL modem" [SIP CoE 09-4940-00097]. The DSL modem bit is a distraction, it's actually about SIP. This could be the right document, but it's >6 years old and in a few places it says that BT will provide information that I'm struggling to get [eg username and password from the Authentication Options section].

Anybody succeeded with this?

I have a few customers working on SIp from Hipcom. What are your problems and release of software on the 3300?

7.2.
I don't know what the settings need to be, especially the credentials.

Well you are not going to get far without the username and password.... I have a setup guide which is quite old but gives you the basics.
