Mitel 5320 LEDs
« on: July 21, 2016, 04:26:36 AM »
Have I got two faulty phones or have I never noticed that the top three buttons don't have LEDs on a 5320 phone??

Very frustrating that they don't have LED's.

They are our main IP Phone when we install MiVO250.
Obviously Mitel didn't need the LED's on the MCD but it is annoying in any case.

The other question I hate is, 'What do the left and right buttons do on the bottom of the phone'
What can you say??

Hopefully Mitel will write a firmware update to support multiple pages on the 5320 like they did on the MCD.

Hello

Thanks for confirming for me, how have I never noticed this before!  :-[

I've just tried a 5320e as well and that doesn't have the LEDs, that explains why the default keymap has the keys starting on the fourth button down!

You just have to adjust the key map so features that don't need LEDs are on the the top 3 keys... Paging, Voicemail, System or Station Speed dial, or whatever doesn't require a light.

But don't feel bad, when I learned this I had about 120 deployed across 2 sites on an overnight cut-over. Left at 4am and wasn't coming back til noon but I got a call from the trainer and had to come back at 8am because "all these phones are broken" and I called support. Probably one of the shortest and dumbest calls I ever made to support. That's how I learned about it. Fix was a quick edit of a couple key maps, thank goodness for self-labeling keys.

According to our regional Mitel sales person, they will get "more than one page of keys" soon... The way he talked I expected it in the 6.2 release but didn't see it in the release notes.

Are you sure Ryskie,

The top three buttons are soft keys on a 3300, there is no need for them to light up.

I have never seen this with a 5320 but I am happy to be proven wrong.

Ryskie,

Are you sure that you are not thinking about the 5330 which does have keys that light due to multiple pages being allowed?

Thanks,

TE
