Outgoing number
« on: July 20, 2016, 08:31:46 PM »
At our firm we recently changed the outgoing number to get an outside line from 9 to 5.  We have a Mitel 3300.
Everything seems to be working fine.  However, 504-xxxx is a local for us.  So when a user dials 5 for the outside line and another 5 the phone will say invalid.  How would I program this in ARS Digits dialed to make it work?  Thanks in advance!

The problem isn't in your ARS Dialed Digits table... Not for "5504xxxx" since that is a match to the first entry. I would examine your lists and routes and do a dgt trace in maintenance commands to see where it's failing.

I'm no Mitel expert and learning on the fly.  If you have any screenshots or things for me to check, let me know the path.  Thanks!

I am not around a system at the moment...

Go to Maintenance Commands, enter 'DGT TRACE 55041111' and it will output how/where the call is routed. Because your digits dialed sends it to a list, there are multiple routes so you need to go ARS Route Lists and see what routes are being used by List 3, and look at each route and how the digits are modified on that route, if that route has the correct COR applied to it, etc.

To be honest, know that I think of it, your issue is probably a conflicting dialing plan... I would start in maintenance commands and, because the error occurs at 55, enter 'LOCATE NUMBER 55' and see the result, there is probably a feature access code or speed dial that needs to be changed because it is conflicting with the ARS.

Thank you Acejavelin!
Ran those two maintenance commands and got the following outputs:

DGT Trace started:
55 : Feature Code (53)
DGT Trace completed.

The number refers to a feature access code.

Went to System -> Feature access codes and found remote clear all features as 55.  Changed it and had the user test.  Working now.  Thank you!!!

Ace,
Now our firm in another town is having dialing issues.  It is with local calls 5 665xxxx gives them access denied.
I logged in to that mitel system and did the maintenance command and it gave me:
DGT Trace started:
5665xxxx : ARS 5 +  7, ARS 5 +  7, Route (1)
DGT Trace completed.
Did locate number 56 and it is not in use.

Now if the user does 5 1 + the number it will dial out.
I'm going to check with the phone company to make sure something wasn't changed.  Let me know if you have any other things for me to check.  Thanks in advance!

You could just insert 1<area code> to the number in the digit modification plan.
As long as you're not billed differently for it then everyone can treat all numbers in your area code exactly the same way.

Access denied is a COR (Class or Restriction) error.

You will need to allow that ARS Route access.

Have a look at ARS programming.

In ARS is has digits dialed 5, number of digits to follow = 7, route, termination 1.

I go to ARS Routes and Route number 1 shows TDM Trunk Group 1 with COR group number = 1 and Digit Modification number as 1.

From System properties - > System Feature Settings -> Class of Restriction Groups
Number 1
Classes of Restriction for Group is blank

What am I missing?
