Change the night line message
« on: June 18, 2010, 10:16:13 AM »
I just inherited a 3300ICP and I need to change the general greeting. How do I access the message. I don't see any voicemail mailbox label nightlight or anything even close to it.
We have the built in voicemail.

thanks

You'll need to log into the administrator mailbox.   Usually 999 or 9999.
If you don't have a password for it, please PM me and I'll give you the defaults off line.

I figured it was in the 9999 mailbox. We tried setting up an alternate message but it didn't play. Is there a way we can hear the primary greeting before we change it, we want to make sure we have the right message. Or how do we get Alternate greeting to play. We activated it and then put the systems on night mode but the primary message still played.

Depending on your programming, putting a system into night mode may not make the system play the night mode.   Check your business hours programming to be sure.

They only way to hear the primary greeting before changing it is to (1) call the voice mail system while in day mode,  (2) log into the admin box and go through the procedures to change it.  It will play it before it changes and ask you if you want to accept it as it is.

Is there anyway to backup the current message? I can ftp into the system but I don't see any files related to vmail. I don't see any .wav files.

Thanks

Ooo.  Sorry.  Don't know that one.   I'm sure there must be a way but I don't know it.   Try looking for VOX files rather than WAV files.
