Web Interface and RTC shell inaccessible
« on: June 15, 2016, 09:44:15 AM »
Hello all,

Here's an interesting one.  The management interfaces for our 3300 MXeIII seem to have locked up.  The web interface is inaccessible (just says "This page cannot be displayed") and the RTC shell seems to be unresponsive - telnet'ing to port 2002 gives me a username and password prompt but after entering those details nothing else happens.  The SX-2000 interface still seems to be responding.  The phones themselves all seem to be working OK, we just can't administer anything!

Does anyone have any idea how I can rescue things without resorting to cycling the power or pressing the reset button?  I'm trying to avoid the likelyhood of any database corruption!

Thanks for your help,
Dan.

Sometimes I've had this just clear up on its own in an hour or 2. Can you connect via serial connection straight to the RS-232 port and see the shell console that way? I'm guessing there's something causing a CPU spike. Could also try to do a "programmed reboot display" on the SX-2000 interface, that should tell you if there's a pending resource recovery reboot triggered. You will probably have to reboot the controller if it doesn't clear up on its own, but if everything is running normally you could just do a programmed reboot outside of your operating hours.

I've had this happen before.
Don't know the cause.
You could log into the SX2000 interface and set up an overnight reboot.
That way you wouldn't have to cycle to power.
Otherwise I don't know of any other way to resolve it.

Thanks for your replies.  The serial interface is unresponsive too.  :(  I've managed to schedule a reboot but out of curiosity is there a way to perform a manual reboot from the SX-2000 interface?

I think a "load 1" from the SX-2000 interface should work.

That would reboot it.
When I get this I usually schedule an overnight reboot.
