Can you change caller ID for specific destinations?
« on: April 22, 2016, 02:01:54 AM »
We have a customer that wants their extensions to present 2 different caller ID numbers based on the external destination number they have dialled. They have multiple SIP phone numbers for different area codes from the same carrier terminating on their 3300 PBX. When they call outside their office's local area code they want their customers to see a caller ID with the same area code as the number they dialled.

For example our customer has a phone number (123) 3456789 at their office. When they call (123) 9876543 the person receiving the call sees (123) 3456789. When they call (321) 9876543 they want the person receiving the call to see a caller ID of (321) 3456789 which is a SIP phone number they have in that area code.

Is this possible when there is only 1 multi channel SIP trunk with the multiple phone numbers on it?

The CLID is based on the trunk or the peer the call goes out on.
You can't do it by number dialed unless you send the call out a different trunk.

I thunk you can do it by having trunk groups under a non prime key and selecting that to make the call rather than using the prime.

Set up your keys with DN's, assign the CPN you want for the keys.

Then in the COS of the sets enabled "Non Prime Network Identity"

I think you can do it associated directory form as well.
Assign the DN of the multicall key and then put in the CLI needed. Do the non prime network identity.

I think johnp may be on to something.
If you're using SIP and an Ingate you can do a lot of incredible stuff.
