display incoming caller ID on external transfer
« on: April 20, 2016, 11:56:58 AM »
Hi,

Apologies if this has been covered, I couldn't find this in my forum searching.
We have a situation where we use the auto attendant to transfer incoming calls to an external service. When this happens, the CLI displayed is our main ISDN number rather than the CLI of the incoming call. I've tried to find if this is a setting somewhere to pass the incoming CLI to the external system but no luck so far. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, where is the option I need to set?

Thanks in advance,

Lee.

Yup, its possible but you may find a problem if your provider only allows CLI that are static on your link. If so it would refuse to transfer the call.

I believe the setting you need is Non-Prime Public Network Identity in COS

I think the setting you're looking for in under the ISDN protocol.
There's a option to replace external CLID.  It should be set to yes.

Be aware that some carriers do not allow this, it is very hit and miss here (Minneapolis/St Paul metro area)... some carriers don't care what number you send, some will only allow calls that go out to local numbers (they don't recognize the the inbound caller ID as a billing number, so reject the call the long distance numbers), and some block all calls with originating caller ID that is not a listed billing number (the main billing number or a DID number on that trunk group).

But the option is what Ralph said, the option is shown below...
