How to see number of SIP trunk licenses in use
« on: March 16, 2016, 12:25:18 AM »
Hi,

I am wanting to be able to see or set an alarm to tell me if our SIP trunk licenses are close to or have been totally consumed at any time during the day.

I believe the customer is at peak calling times hitting this limit and I want to be able to see definitely that this is the case.

Any help is much appreciated

If you are using MBG as SIP proxy the actual number of used SIP trunk licenses can be seen on the Dashboard or on the Metrics (graphical view with history).

 Availability and usage
License type    Total local    Total local in use
Teleworker licenses    3    0
Tap licenses:    3    0
SIP Trunk licenses:    5    0
Transcoding licenses:    0    0

As I know there is no alarm on the PBX of that kind.

Maybe you can run SIP TCPDUMP ON, download the pcap files and then analyze the files somehow to see how my calls were active at any given time.

There isn't a good way to see traffic stats on SIP trunks without the MBG.
You might be able to get the stats from your carrier.
