Addng a Conferance Phone
« on: March 04, 2016, 11:13:11 AM »
Hi All

This may sound like a Stupid Question, but we have had a Mitel Phone System Put in, it consists of two units, one login is for Mivoice and the other login is for the Micollab.

We have purchased a conference phone and wish to set it up, although we have no idea of the next Extension etc to use or basically where to start!

could someone assist, it is just a Conf Phone that we will use internally

What kind of conference phone... analog or SIP?

You also didn't mention the system or revision (is it a physical or virtual system). There are multiple considerations depending on the phone and system type, and licensing could be a factor as well.

To see extensions (DNs) in use and available, you can go to maintenance commands and enter "LOCATE ALL FREE DN xxxx TO xxxx" something like LOCATE ALL FREE DN 1000 TO 7999 or similar depending on your numbering plan, this will list available directory numbers that can be assigned.

Yes it is the UC360, we have two Mitel Hardware Devices on site, and we do have free licenses to be able to do this

Hope this helps

Im Not to sure what I am doing wrong

I have added on the Micollab a New User the login I have called it roomc, and the password is its extension.

On the Phones Tab I do not see the option to add the UC360 so I picked an ip phone

On the uc360 its asking for SIP Password but the only password I have created was one for the user.

Any step by step would be greatly appreciated

Device Type would be "UC Endpoint"... You will probably have to log into the 3300 itself to set the SIP password in the User & Device settings in the Access & Authentication tab.

Do you have access to MOL? There is a document that walks you through setting it up step by step manually (in the 3300), depending on your system version that may populate MiCollab properly, or you might have to do the pieces manually (some in MiCollab, some in the 3300 directly).

EDIT: I attached the Admin guide, it doesn't give you any real setup via MiCollab, but it shows how to do the setup manually in the 3300 system.

How does the Micollab update itself, I added the user on the 3300, yet under users on the Micollab that user is not showing?

Unless you're using the very latest version of MiCollab, that uses SDS sync, it doesn't auto-update. It was one directional before, where users added into MiCollab would populate to the 3300, but not the reverse.
